Reasons to Join

Join the St. Marks Civic Area Association!

The association was formed to facilitate dialogue and communication among community members and to cultivate ways residents of our large and diverse area of Dorchester can have their voices heard by the city and government officials.  A modest annual membership of $10.00 for individuals and $15.00 for businesses is all that is required to join.

  • Each member is vitally important to achieving our mission of improving and enriching the neighborhood we live in.
  • Meetings are once a month on the last Tuesday of the month (except July, August and December) at 7 PM -8:30 PM in the lower church hall of St. Marks Church at 1725 Dorchester Ave.  The meeting is an opportunity for you to meet and greet your neighbors. The civic association is not affiliated with the church.
  • City and government officials attend the monthly meetings on a regular basis as do representatives from the Police Department.
  • Each month special guests address topics of interest to the neighborhood.  Suggestions for guest speakers are always welcome.
  • Do you have a topic you would like addressed?  Come to a meeting and see if you would like to join and help to bring about needed changes and improvements to our area of Dorchester.  Tell us what topics you want to hear more about along with your concerns.
  • Your voice joined to others has the power to accomplish change!
